After a three-year hiatus brought about by COVID-19 and an expired lease, Wing-It Jax reopened its doors back in April. Granted, they’re different doors now, as the restaurant has reopened several miles from its 25-year home on Old St. Augustine Road. Well worth it: the area has gotten this longstanding chicken wing mainstay back in the mix.
Now, word is out that an expansion is on the horizon for next year. Coverage published this week by the Jacksonville Business Journal revealed that the brand has partnered with Pearl Hospitality Group to modernize its operations, with a view to launching a new location in Jacksonville Beach next year.
Known as “The Place for Wings,” Wing-It serves up wings with Signature Sauces like Medium, Hot, and Volcanic (!), along with additional flavors like Honey BBQ, Cajun Ranch, and Lemon Pepper. The menu also features appetizers like Mozzarella Sticks and Fried Mushrooms, plus Burgers/Sandwiches that include the Smash Burger and the Wing It Chicken Sandwich (tender fried chicken breast, tossed in sauce of your choice, topped with ranch, served on a toasted bun).
And address for specific site planned for Jacksonville Beach are not yet available. What Now reached out to Wing-It owner Dave Morency on Wednesday to ask about plans for Wing-It’s expansion. Morency was not immediately available for comment.
