A brand new bakery called Arble Baking Company is looking to expand following the debut of its first location in North Jacksonville at 6765 Dunn Ave. No. 327
The company recently held its grand opening at the Dunn Village Shopping Center on May 20, according to the Florida Times-Union. Arble Baking Company comes from the kids of Veronica and Willis “The Cookie Man” Anderson, who have spent years serving the community with their cookies, as well as a local firefighter. In an attempt to continue their parent’s legacy, Willis “Lamar” Anderson and his younger siblings, Alonza, Monica, and Whitney, have opened this sweet shop and have started selling their small-batch homemade cookies.
“Our father spent 32 years serving the community as a local firefighter and quickly earned a second nickname as “The Cookie Man.” “When you saw him, you knew cookies were close by,” Monica Anderson tells the Union-Tribune. “The relationships our parents built, coupled with the opportunities created for our family, established a passion for entrepreneurship and community service in each of us.”
Customers can expect plenty of delicious homemade cookies at Arble Baking Company, including oatmeal nut, chocolate chip, and peanut butter cookies baked from scratch and made with authentic family recipes. The new company will also serve pies and cupcakes as well. While the siblings only recently opened this shop, they hope to expand the business into other parts of Jacksonville.
“We do intend on hopefully opening other locations and really providing opportunities for other individuals around the Jacksonville community,” Lamar Anderson tells the Times-Union. “At the end of the day, that’s what it’s really all about for us.”
