Asado Life, a live-fire restaurant, is coming to the Downtown Jacksonville Shipyards project at East Bay Street.

The Jacksonville Downtown Investment Authority posted the news, noting that the restaurant is targeting an August 2026 opening.

Led by executive chef Matthew Brown, the restaurant will offer asado – communal meals featuring meats grilled on open fire. The restaurant features traditional Argentinian culinary offerings including charcuterie, seacuterie, braised short ribs, and more. Vegetarians can also experience live-fire cooking with a special plate of grilled and roasted vegetables.

The waterfront restaurant also plans on being an integral part of the neighborhood by hosting special tailgating events for gamedays and concerts at its neighbor, EverBank Stadium.

This is the second Asado Life, with the flagship located in St. Augustine. The menus will be the same, although the Jacksonville restaurant will offer a metropolitan vibe when compared to St. Augustine’s coastal chic interior.

In a press release, Asado Life owner Nick Carrera expressed his excitement to open this second restaurant, saying, “”Just as in St. Augustine, we look forward to welcoming guests around the fire to share the food, the atmosphere, and the sense of community that define who we are.”
