Buc-ee’s Travel Center, the massive gas station/ rest stop with countless food and drink options, is preparing to break ground on a new location at 7156 Hwy 99, located off I-95, in Brunswick, GA.
The company is set to break ground on a new Buc-ee’s on Jan. 29, according to Savannah Morning News. The upcoming Brunswick travel center will occupy 74,000 square feet and have 120 fuel pumps. This will be the third Buc-ee’s in Georgia, following locations that are situated off Interstate 75 in Adairsville and Warner Robins. On top of being a great place to stop to get gas, the travel center has countless food options, ranging from BBQ sandwiches to a wall of beef jerky.
“Brunswick is a natural stop between our Florida and South Carolina locations on a stretch of interstate near the beautiful Georgia coastline,” Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s director of real estate, said in a press release. “The community has welcomed us with open arms, and we are excited to finally get started here.”
The Texas-based company opened in 1982 from Clute, TX, and has since expanded to 47 locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Missouri, and Tennessee. What’s more impressive is that the company began expanding outside of Texas by opening a location in Baldwin County, Alabama, in 2018. On top of the variety of freshly made food and grab-and-go options, Buc-ee’s has become a popular place for travelers, known for its clothing line, pristine bathrooms, and massive size.
