Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop recently opened its first location in Jacksonville this month, and there are more on the way.
Franchisee Shawn Seagroves told What Now Jacksonville that the next two locations are three to four years out from fully opening, but are confirmed in the pipeline to expand in Jacksonville.
“With supply-chain issues, it took two years to open the first location, which is longer than what we had originally anticipated. The next two Capriotti’s are at least few years out from opening, most likely three or four years,” Seagroves said over the phone.
Currently, there are no leases signed for the two upcoming Capriotti locations.
The Capriotti’s brand is a nationwide chain of Italian-style sandwich restaurants, originating in Delaware in 1976. The brand has since grown to over 140 locations, with the first Jacksonville location among four in Florida listed on the sandwich chain’s website, which also states plans to open 40 more this year.
The menu at Capriotti’s includes a variety of different styles of sandwich, including five versions of the cheesesteak, the “Capastrami” pastrami sandwich, Wagyu beef sandwiches, meatball subs, and their most popular, “The Bobbie,” which is a Thanksgiving-style turkey sandwich featuring stuffing and cranberry sauce, according to their online menu.
