According to permits, Catullo’s Italian Restaurant has started construction on its second location in Jacksonville at 120 Marketside Ave in the Ponte Vedra Beach neighborhood. It’s expected that the new location will be open in the spring of this year, though an exact date is not yet determined.
“We do not have a date yet as the build-out is still ongoing. Sometime in April is a good guess at this point,” Owner Dave Catullo told What Now Jacksonville.
Catullo’s, known for its authentic hand-made pasta, started as a food truck in the Nocatee area. The first brick-and-mortar Catullo’s location opened in February 2019 in the San Pablo area by brothers Carl and Dave Catullo.
The menu at Catullo’s offers gourmet pasta entrees, fresh seafood, and unique spins on traditional Italian desserts like limoncello mascarpone cake and pistachio ricotta cake. It’s also noted that every dish is crafted using fresh, made-from-scratch ingredients for authenticity and quality.
The amount of love put into the food at Catullo’s directly translates into each dish, which has garnered the restaurant a lot of well-earned recognition. At the beginning of February, Catullo’s was named one of Yelp’s Top 100 U.S. Restaurants of 2023.
Some popular items offered include arancini, shrimp fra diavolo, porcini mushroom tortelloni, and lobster ravioli, according to the online menu.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to bring our food and service to an area that supported us as a food truck,” Dave said.
