A new Mediterranean restaurant is preparing to open its doors near the Rivers Edge Marina in St. Augustine. Called Zaría Simply Mediterranean, it will launch at 415 S Ponce de Leon Blvd., at the intersection with Lewis Boulevard.

“From our family table… to yours,” says an Instagram post published by the brand last week. “ZARÍA has been a dream rooted in love, culture, and the joy of cooking together. We’re building a warm, sunny space where every guest feels like family.”

The image included in the post describes the restaurant as a “warm, sunny Mediterranean kitchen.”

A menu already posted on Zaría’s website includes dishes like a Chicken Shawarma Bowl, a Beef Kofta Kebab Platter, Shakshuka (eggs perfectly poached in a spiced, rich tomato, onion, pepper sauce, served hot with warm bread for dipping), and Lahmacun (Kurdish/Turkish Pizza), a “thin, crispy flatbread topped with a savory blend of minced beef, tomatoes, peppers, parsley, and warm Mediterranean spices. Baked until perfectly golden, served with fresh lemon, herbs, tomatoes-cucumbers, Sumac onions.”

What Now reached out on Monday to Neroj Taha, one of the owners of Zaría Simply Mediterranean. Taha was not immediately available to talk about news of the opening.
