As the New Year gets rolling, a new food truck serving hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage, and more is preparing to get rolling too. Digitty Dawgs, which has already made appearances in Middleburg, is preparing to make a full debut in the Jacksonville area.

“Our plans are to open in the middle of February,” owner Christopher Colwell told What Now on Thursday. “We’ve got hot dogs topped with whatever you like, coleslaw, sauerkraut, chili. We’ve got Italian sausage with peppers and onions. We’re also doing a mini Cuban sandwich.”

To top that off, the menu also features egg rolls (see above!) with fillings like pizza, Buffalo chicken, and Cuban sandwich ingredients.

“Pricing is going to be one of the key factors,” Colwell says. “I’m out to keep the prices low enough for families to come out and enjoy something different.”

That communal spirit is central to the Digitty Dawgs project, Colwell says. There are plans to get involved with the community and provide support (and great-tasting food) to people in need.

“We’re trying to be aware of our surroundings, and do what we can to help.”

You can keep up with Digitty Dawgs by following the food truck on Facebook.
