A new location for American fast-casual chain Wendy’s is heading to Newberry, according to state business filings. The location will open at 23479 West Newberry Road.
Franchise group Hoover Foods, which is based in Suwanee, Georgia, has been developing Wendy’s locations and other fast-casual franchise restaurants for decades. Carl Hoover, vice president at Hoover Foods, confirmed the location in a phone call with What Now Jacksonville but was not available to provide immediate comment. An opening timeline for the new restaurant remains unclear.
This location will be the first in Newberry. The closest spots to the forthcoming location include six locations in Gainesville.
Wendy’s has grown to thousands of locations globally since its founding in 1969, with more than 7,000 locations worldwide and more than 6,000 in the U.S.
