Harbour Village, a retail center on the northwest corner of the intersection between Atlantic Boulevard and North San Pablo Road, will soon be home to a new cafe and tobacco-free hookah spot. Gahwa Cafe will occupy suite 34 in the plaza, staying open from breakfast time (8 a.m.) until late (midnight) with a designated hookah area.

“It’s going to be a small breakfast place, mainly serving pastries, muffins, and some cold Arabic dishes,” owner Husham Husein told What Now on Wednesday. “For drinks, there will be all kinds of coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and so on.”

At lunch, prepackaged sandwiches with other items will be available, and by night guests will be able to enjoy tobacco-free hookah, which Husein compares to a vape, in a designated area until midnight.

Opening at Harbour Village, Gahwa will be part of a food and drink community that includes Tequila’s Town Mexican Restaurant, Blue Orchid Thai Cuisine, and Zaitoon Mediterranean Grill.

Work is still being done on the location, Husein said, and no opening date is available yet. To keep up with the news, follow Gahwa Cafe’s Facebook page.
