National sandwich chain restaurant Jersey Mike’s Subs is working on a new location in Jacksonville at 90 Riverside Ave Suite 604.

This is the latest location from franchise owner Frank Bergren, who previously announced plans to open several Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in central and northern Florida, including in St. Augustine at 70 Silver Frst Drive and River City Marketplace at 725 Nautica Dr #101. Now, the franchisee is preparing to open a new site in the former home of Drybar at the Brooklyn Station on Riverside, according to a property brochure from Regency Centers.

The new Jersey Mike’s will sit between Vale Food Company and Mayday Handcrafted Ice Cream in the shopping center. There is no timeline for the new Jersey Mike’s, but a recent plan review application submitted by Bergren has this site listed at 108 Riverside Avenue, D3. It is one of many new locations planned by the franchisee, who has already opened sites in Largo, Horizon West, Windermere, and more. This is just one of the thousands of new locations the company plans to open in the coming years.

Jersey Mike’s expanded by 1,055 restaurants in the last five years, according to QSR Magazine. The chain expects to open 350 locations in 2024 before ramping up to 400–450 openings in 2026. Jersey Mike’s previously said it would aim for a 13–15 percent annual unit growth, translating to 10–15 stores per week on the road to 5,000-plus domestic restaurants within five years. Earlier this year, the company announced a 300-store deal with Burger King and Taco Bell franchise operator Redberry Restaurants to open locations in Canada. This will be Jersey Mike’s first major international expansion plan since its founding.

“We’re thrilled that Jersey Mike’s entrusted us with bringing their iconic brand to Canada,” Ken Otto, CEO of Redberry, said in a statement. “We resonated strongly with their culture, product, and mission, and are excited to ‘Make it Happen’ for both Jersey Mike’s and their Canadian fans.”
