K1 Speed, one of the world’s largest indoor go-kart racing operators, announced its acquisition of Autobahn / Accelerate Indoor Speedway and its 11 national locations, including the Jacksonville site at 6601 Executive Park Court N.

Over the coming weeks, all nine Autobahn locations and its two sister Accelerate locations will transition to the look and feel of K1 Speed, according to a press release. While most existing Autobahn locations currently offer limited food and drink options, K1 Speed will start adding its Paddock Lounge café at every center to provide guests with more choices. Additionally, each center will soon get an arcade with an array of video games, prize machines, and skill-based games, providing entertainment for everyone.

“Autobahn’s passion for indoor karting was undeniable, and I applaud them for promoting it through their leagues and championships,” K1 Speed Co-Owner/Founder and CEO David Danglard said in a press release. “We share this same strong love for the sport, so we’re confident that existing racers will embrace the expanded competition that K1 Speed provides with our E-World Championship.”

With this acquisition, K1 Speed now has 83 locations in 29 states and nine countries. In Florida, K1 Speed also has centers in Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Miami-Medley, Orlando, and Tampa Bay, with Riviera Beach coming soon. Internationally, K1 Speed operates in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, France, China, and South Korea, with the Dominican Republic, Italy, and Kuwait coming soon.

“We feel privileged doing business with a company we’ve long respected,” K1 Speed Co-Owner/Founder and Director of Marketing Susan Danglard said in a press release. “Autobahn’s success speaks for itself, so taking over ownership of their locations is an immense honor for our brand.”
