Saucy, the conceptual chicken tender and sauce concept by KFC is coming to Jacksonville.

The restaurant will take over the PDQ space at 4816 Gate Parkway. The Jacksonville Daily Record reports that the city is currently reviewing permits for the 3,312 square foot restaurant that seats 66 customers both inside and at the outdoor patio. A spokesperson for Saucy confirmed the news, adding that the restaurant won’t open until the new year. The Jacksonville Saucy by KFC is part of a larger Florida expansion of the brand, though additional locations haven’t been announced yet.

According to KFC  parent company, Yum Brands, Saucy by KFC is, “all about the sauce”. The restaurant features chicken tenders (called “tendies”) and 11 signature sauces that consumers can choose from to create a bespoke meal.

The idea was formed the day before Thanksgiving 2023 when Yum Brands executives tasked an independent team to develop a KCF sub-concept that would appeal to young consumers.

The result was Saucy by KFC, a bright pink restaurant that promises to deliver a meal that’s cooked to order in about four minutes. The menu is based around chicken “tendies”, which can be ordered by the piece or in a combo meal. Sauces can be ordered individually or in flights in flavors such as smokey bacon ranch, Korean sweet heat, and salsa ranchero.  Other menu items include fries, cole slaw, King’s Hawaiian rolls, and chick’itos (chicken tendies wrapped in flour tortillas).
