Kilwins, an American company specializing in confectioneries such as candy, ice cream, and fudge, is working on a new location in St. Johns County at 335 Beachfront Dr.
Vada Chocolates Inc., led by franchisees Dana and Vance Stallings and Haley and Jeffrey Dougherty, recently submitted a plan review application through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation for a newly constructed location at that address. There is no exact opening date, but considering this is a new construction permit, it will likely be a few months. This will be the first Kilwins in St. Johns County, with sites in Jacksonville and St. Augustine.
When this new eatery opens, likely next year, customers can expect a plethora of chocolates, ice cream, and more. The company takes pride in offering its original fudge made with original recipes. Kilwin’s ice cream is described as “super-premium,” with a creamy consistency and a delicious, rich texture. The company also offers other sweets, such as caramel apples, brittle, toffee, and more. Since opening in the mid-1900s, Kilwins has expanded to over 160 franchised-owned locations with stores in 26 states.
“Since 1947, Kilwins has been a celebrated part of Americana, having earned a reputation for providing high-quality Chocolates, Ice Cream, and confections combined with excellent service,” according to the company’s website. “Our heritage was built on the simple premise of creating our products from the finest ingredients and providing customers with great service. Today we continue the tradition by uniquely combining high-quality products with a warm, friendly customer experience, which is supported through a successful community of caring franchisees/store owners. We continue to offer the very best confections and Ice Cream that are hand-crafted in our kitchen, fresh from premium ingredients and original recipes.”
