North Main Street’s Springfield Scoops will soon open a new location, according to recent public records.

Located at 11257 Alta Drive, the independent creamery will bring Jacksonville a new way of seeing and experiencing ice cream.

“The concept is similar to the first location’s. We did it a bit different than most restaurants do in which they start as food trucks and graduate to brick and mortar; in our case, we started as a brick and mortar, opened a mobile location second, and will now be opening out third as a brick and mortars,” owner Danielle McQueen tells What Now Jax.

“It will have a lounge vibe, with music and DJs. We’re hoping for couples to come hang out, for example. It’ll still be an ice cream shop, but it’ll have events like game nights, art night, things like that. Same delicious ice cream, but with a bit of a twist.”

When asked when it will open, McQueen points towards the near future.

“We hope to open within a month and a half; we are in the final stages of build out.”

And will the brand keep expanding after this newest location opens?

“I’m not opposed to it. We’re just taking it one step at a time.”
