After the company announced plans to update its existing locations earlier this year, the McDonald’s in Cedar Hills, located at 7359 103 Street, is getting ready to get an upgrade.

Franchise owner Michael Potapow was recently approved for a remodel of his McDonald’s on 103rd Street, according to a plan review from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. The extent of these renovations is unknown, and Potapow has yet to respond to questions from What Now Jacksonville. Nonetheless, this is a part of the company’s nationwide plan to renovate existing sites to become more modern, sustainable, and welcoming.

At the beginning of the year, McDonald’s introduced Nika Samedova and Silke Korporal to help change the way McDonald’s restaurants look and feel around the world. The two have spent more than a half-century working with McDonald’s, and now Korporal has become the company’s Lead for Global Design Standards. One of the highlights of these upcoming renovations is improving the customer experience by integrating self-order kiosks and table service into restaurants and helping McDonald’s become more sustainable.

“Table service allows people so much more time to relax,” Korporal said in a press release earlier this year. “It can feel like an elevated experience. We want our spaces to feel comfortable and playful, and we encourage cheerful gatherings and carefree moments in our restaurants. I remember waiting in line to visit my first McDonald’s restaurant 30 years ago. Years later, I was part of the team that modernized that very restaurant.”
