A new acai-focused eatery called Jax Acai is getting ready to debut later this year in the Arrowhead neighborhood, located at 9825 San Jose Blvd #36.

The company recently submitted a plan review application to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation to open in the Mandarin Outback Plaza. Owner Chrissie Pereira tells What Now Jacksonville that the new eatery is expected to open in late Winter, possibly mid-February or early March. The company appears to also be owned by Megan Miranda and Jeremy Robinson. Pereira says the eatery will only serve different acai options.

When the new acai eatery opens in a few months, it will sit between Sr. Ceviche and CosmoProf in a vacant space that was formerly a pharmacy. Jax Acai will sit in a shopping center with several other eateries, including Masala Indian Cuisine, Margarita’s Mexican Grill, Wok N Roll, and more. This eatery will be the fresh go-to spot for the shopping center, which is filled with several hearty options.

The new eatery should have no problems getting customers in the doors, only having to compete with Acai Angel and Smoothie King. Like most acai eateries, Jax Acai will offer various acai bowl options with multiple types of toppings. Most commonly, it is fresh fruit and other health options, such as coconut shavings and honey. The superfood is becoming a popular option in the fitness community for its beneficial effects.
