A new yet-to-be-named boba shop is getting ready to make its debut in Jacksonville, located at 12529 Yellow Bluff Rd #5.

Owner Alan Luong is preparing to open a new boba site in the Publix-anchored Northpoint Village. Luong tells What Now Jacksonville that he anticipates it will be a few more months before he opens this eatery. This boba site was going to be originally named Tastea, but the California-based company appears to have forced Luong to change names. A new name is being worked on by the owners.

When this new Jacksonville location opens, customers can expect various tea drinks, such as jasmine and milk teas, as well as coffee, smoothie, and slushie options. In addition to the tea options, there will be plenty of boba to choose from with a variety of different flavors. As for food, the eatery will likely offer a handful of grab-and-go options or easy morning snacks.

This will be an excellent spot for the new locally-owned business, mainly because of having no other competition nearby. While there are several boba options throughout Jacksonville, there are none within miles of this site. Despite the lack of competition, the area is full of other restaurants and businesses. This yet-to-be-named eatery will have no problems becoming the primary boba shop in the area.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated this eatery was linked to the California-based chain Tastea Boba. A representative from that company has reached out to What Now Jacksonville to clarify there is no relation.
