Pampy’s Bakery, the popular Cuban eatery in Lake City, is preparing to open a new location in Gainesville, allegedly at 3601 SW 2nd Avenue, Site A.
The company’s new location will move near the University of Florida later this year. Owner Dolores Pampillo wasn’t able to provide What Now Jacksonville with additional details regarding the opening, but she was approved earlier this month by city officials to open this location. The company’s original site at 4475 SW State Road 47 features a restaurant and bakery offering authentic Cuban dishes and pastries. Now, Pampillo is ready to expand the bakery to a new location.
The eatery will feature some well-known dishes from Cuba, including Cuban sandwiches, croquettes, empanadas, quesadillas, and more. The restaurant also offers plenty of soups and salads, as well as plenty of drinks. The original location features a bar with plenty of Mexican beers. It’s unclear if the bakery will offer any alcoholic beverages.
“We specialize in authentic Cuban cuisine, as well as traditional Cuban bakery with pastries and more,” according to the company’s website. “Start your day with our delicious pastries with guava and cheese, and don’t forget your cafe con leche with Cuban saad butter tostada. Some of our lunch favorites are the world’s famous Cuban sandwich, made with roasted pork, mojito sauce, Swiss cheese, and ham. Our menu is filled with traditional sides, like yellow rice with vegetables and more.”
