A new barbecue restaurant will be coming soon in place of the old Smokey’s BBQ at 1018 Cassat Ave in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville.
Seaboar Seafood & BBQ will be opening sometime this year, though the project is still in early stages of development, according to a permit filed for the building in Dec. 2022. The restaurant will serve local and fresh seafood, traditional Southern-style barbecue, and a variety of sides dishes.
Seaboar will join a list of similar barbecue joints in the area, including King’s BBQ, Mojo No. 4, Holy Smoke Barbecue, and Monroe’s Smokehouse.
The owner of Seaboar, Bill Kandah, told What Now Jacksonville that a website and social media channels for the business have not yet been created, but are on the horizon.
A grand-opening date has not been set, though Kandah hopes to open later in 2023.
