According to recent public records, a national seafood chain appears to be making a comeback in town.
Captain D’s has been listed as “in process” in a recent plan review document and appears to be returning to its former home on Jacksonville’s Dunn Avenue. As of early May, the Google listing states the establishment is “temporarily closed.”
For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, “Captain D’s was founded in 1969 and has a national presence with over 530 restaurants across 23 states. The chain is present in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is now spreading to South Texas,” the Journal reports.
On the menu, locals can expect to find fried fish and oysters, grilled shrimp, and sides such as coleslaw, okra, and a loaded baked potato.
