After temporarily closing its location at 100 West Bay Street, the owners of The Bread & Board are still in the process of reopening in Downtown Jacksonville.

The company, owned and operated by Jonathan Cobbs and Dwayne Beliakoff, closed the VyStar Credit Union campus on May 26 “for maintenance and repairs throughout summer,” according to Jacksonville Daily Record. The ownership tells the publication that the delay in reopening is because of a lack of progress in resolving the flooring issues. Once these issues are resolved, the restaurant will be able to reopen. However, there is no exact reopening date at this point. Hopefully, The Bread & Board will reopen by year-end.

The independently owned, fast-casual restaurant is described as an equal parts fun-loving sandwich shop and fine dining kitchen. Customers can expect everything from classic deli sandwiches to sandwich boards made with our baked in-house bread, fresh salads, made-from-scratch sides, and original entrees using premium, house-made ingredients. The restaurant’s menu also features plenty of beer, wine, and other complementary sides.

Owners Jonathan Cobbs and Dwayne Beliakoff opened The Bread and Board after they were inspired by the idea of putting a twist on the idea of the classic sandwich shop. Their vision was to expand the essential components of a great sandwich — cured meats, artisan cheeses, fresh ingredients, and baked-in-house bread— into a flexible format akin to a charcuterie board. The concept has proven a hit to Jacksonville residents and visitors, so once this restaurant reopens, customers can expect the reservation list to fill quickly.
