Tunis Seafood Wings and Subs, a neighborhood seafood and chicken restaurant, is preparing to open a new location in Arlington at 2048 Rogero Road.

The company’s sixth area location will move into the former home of Cotten’s Bar-B-Que, which closed in February after owners Fred Jr. and Yvonne Cotten decided to retire after opening the restaurant in 1987, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Now, Salem Makhlouf is working on opening a Tunis Seafood Wings and Subs in its place. Makhlouf tells What Now Jacksonville that the restaurant is waiting on permits but expects to open before the end of the year.

Salem2048 LLC, owned by Makhlouf, bought the 1,700-square-foot building on June 29 for $410,000. When the restaurant opens later, customers can expect an array of chicken options prepared in various mouthwatering flavors, as well as a variety of other delicious entrees, including gyros, sandwiches, and plenty of seafood options. Tunis Seafood Wings and Subs has five existing locations in the Jacksonville area, with the next closest location in Springfield. Cotten’s Bar-B-Que in Arlington is not affiliated with Fred Cotten’s Landmark BBQ at 1417 N. Main St. in Springfield.

“At Tunis Seafood Wings and Subs, we’re more than just a restaurant – we’re a destination for delectable cuisine that’s not only scrumptious but also beneficial for your well-being,” according to the company’s website. “We’ve handpicked seafood options that are rich in DHA, a vital omega-3 nutrient known for its role in brain development and function. By incorporating these nutrient-packed options into our menu, we aim to promote healthier eating habits and reduce the risk of heart diseases, one delicious dish at a time.”
