The Jacksonville Daily Record reported today that St. Johns County has issued building permits for a brand-new V Pizza location. Planned for 150 Longleaf Pine Parkway, the project carries a $2.07 million price tag and encompasses 8,274 square feet of space.
What Now spoke about the planned pizzeria and bar on Friday with V Pizza Chief Growth Officer David Villmow.
“Our goal is to be open before the end of the year,” Villmow said.
And can we expect to find the same menu at the Durbin Park location that we find at the other V Pizza locations? What Now asked.
“The food menu will be the same, but the big key that makes us different is that we build a bar program that fits wherever we go. For the Durbin area, it will be called the White Oak Bar.”
Are there any tidbits that can be revealed about that program?
“Not yet,” Villmow said. “But we have people on our team who live there. Durbin is an area we know very well, so we’re working to make it what people are wanting.”
For this location, expect a tavern-like feel, a vibe Villmow describes as similar to that of the St. Augustine V Pizza, “but more homey and intimate—especially on the White Oak Bar side.”
This week, V Pizza’s weekly special pie is the Happy Tomato Pizza. “As always, we start with our house made dough from imported, 00 Italian flour. Then we pile on shredded Mozzarella, our house made ‘Happy Tomato cream sauce,’ Italian sausage, cherry tomatoes, and finish it with fresh basil, EVOO, oregano, & pecorino romano before it goes in the oven. When it comes out, we garnish the top with thinly shaved Prosciutto di Parma…the heat from the pizza will almost “melt” the prosciutto creating an extremely rich and succulent taste!!”
Durbin Park has weekly specials like those to look forward to, plus V Pizza’s award-winning Wings.
“We keep it fresh all the time with our new weekly specials,” Villmow said. “And never forget burgers on Mondays, which have been a big hit.”
