Volcanic Sushi + Sake Opening in Newberry

According to recent public records, a new sushi and sake place is headed to town. 

Volcanic Sushi + Sake, “the home of the 3 time winner of Iron Chef of Greater Gainesville” will soon open at 13005 SW 1st Road in Newberry.

“Standing on the core values of professionalism, integrity, and quality, we only use fresh and healthy ingredients that impart a unique and unmatched flavor to our dishes,” says the Volcanic website. “It is our vision to become the most dominant Asian restaurant in the world by providing outstanding innovative quality food, exceptional service and ensure cleanliness in each of our [stores] so we can provide an exquisite and memorable dining experience.”

Volcanic offers a sizable selection of sushi rolls, including the Miami (Salmon, cucumber, avocado, Krab, cream cheese and masago), the Volcanic (Avocado, krab stick, steamed shrimp rolled in soy paper with tuna tartare on top), and the Where’s Wally (Salmon, krab, cream cheese, shrimp and panko fried topped with baked seafood, yum yum sauce, eel sauce, Wally’s special sauce, scallions and masago).

Entrees include Teriyaki (with beef, chicken, shrimp, pork, tofu, or salmon), Duck Curry, and the Volcanic: Grilled meat served on a bed of stir-fried mixed vegetables on a sizzling plate drizzled with teriyaki sauce on top, served with beef, chicken, shrimp, or salmon.

What Now reached out to co-owner Nestor Espartero to inquire about plans for the Volcanic Suhsi + Sake location. Espartero was not immediately available for comment.
