Bb.q Chicken, known for serving the best Korean Fried Chicken in the world, is getting ready to open a new location in Jacksonville at 9700 Deer Lake Ct—unit 2A.

The company’s newest location will move into a busy shopping center near the Cinemark Tinseltown Jacksonville, sharing a building with Bottlenose Brewing, Pho Today, and Jersey Mikes. Franchise owner James King of Walker Hospitality was unavailable for comment, but a recent plan review application is still being processed. The group is also working on opening a new location in Gainesville. Walker Hospitality franchises several other concepts throughout the country.

While Bb.q Chicken has over 3,500 locations across 57 countries, this will be the first time the company has expanded into Jacksonville. When it opens, customers can expect great-tasting, high-quality Korean fried chicken. The new territory will likely be a hit in the market despite competing with some local Korean fried chicken spots, such as Bonchon, Sam Won Garden Korean BBQ, and Gangnam Korean Restaurant. This new location will be an excellent site for the company’s Jacksonville debut, with lots of foot traffic and only one nearby competitor with K-Bop Korean Kitchen.

“Our secret is simple: We’re passionate about chicken, and we’re passionate about Korea,” according to the company’s website. “We established Chicken University in Seoul to keep us on the cutting edge of quality and flavor, and all our stores—whether it’s in Korea or Kansas—champion Korean culture with authentic recipes, exciting flavors, and superior customer service.”
