Wild Pie is getting closer to making its debut in Beach Haven, located at 13500 Beach Boulevard, site 36.

The city is currently reviewing a permit application to build out a 2,329-square-foot restaurant for the plant-based pizza concept, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. The company’s first location will move into the former home of Brucci’s Pizza at Hodges Pointe Plaza. What Now previously reported on this debut, initially reporting this location expecting to open in Summer 2023. Wild Pie is negotiating to open more locations, according to Kate Clifford, founder of Strategic Sites Clifford Commercial.

Wild Pie is a $2 million joint venture between developer John Eckstein and OSO Culinary Ventures LLC. Eckstein and OSO President Bart Ortiz both turned to a plant-based lifestyle more than a decade ago and saw “transformative” results. Ortiz believes this will be a perfect spot for flexitarians, as the menu is completely plant-based. The menu features 12 pizzas, with plant-based options for popular meat choices, such as pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, and chicken.

If approved, the new Wild Pie will have 36 interior seats, with about 20 on a patio. Beer and wine will be available in cans and single-serve bottles. The restaurant will offer other appetites before the pizzas are ready. This will be OSO’s first venture, but the company could develop more concepts in the future. Brucci’s Pizza closed its doors last December after 15 years, saying increased costs in everything caused the downfall.
