Willie Jewell’s Bar-B-Q will join Jacksonville International Airport (JIA)’s Concourse B along with plenty of other food and beverage concepts. The Jacksonville Aviation Authority board members approved Willie Jewell’s Bar-B-Q alongside other retail and restaurant concepts last week, according to the Jacksonville Business Journal.
The brand has roots in the Jacksonville area, stemming from the family behind Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q. Willie Jewell’s Bar-B-Q opened its first location in Charleston in 2009. It now has four locations open in Florida, three in Georgia and two in South Carolina.
Willie Jewell’s at the airport will be operated by HMS Host, which will operate the various food and beverage options in the Concourse B food hall.
The menu features old-school barbecue, including pulled pork, smoked sausage, chicken tenders, smoked turkey, beef brisket, chicken and St. Louis ribs. There are also salads, burgers and desserts such as bread pudding and peach cobbler
Firm RS&H, which is involved in the revamp at JIA, shares on its website that the Concourse B project will add six gates to JIA. The new construction will also feature a new six-story parking garage that will offer 2,400 parking spaces.
Both Cantina Louie and V Pizza will also be joining Concourse B. They are targeting a December 2026 opening.
