Wingstop, one of America’s favorite chicken wing fast-casual restaurants, is working on a new location in St. Johns at 440 Durbin Pavilion Dr.

Franchise owner Michael Moses was recently approved for the construction of a new Wingstop in the Durbin Park Shopping Mall, according to a plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. The restaurant will sit next to the upcoming Chicken Salad Chick, expected to open around mid-November. Moses is also working on opening a new location in Royal Lakes in the Deerwood Village Shopping Center at 9934 Old Baymeadows Road later this year.

The Pavilion at Durbin Park is quickly becoming a culinary hotspot for fast-casual business, already having Smoothie King, SoFresh, and Wawa locations in the area. Those looking for more of a sit-down experience can find options at Keke’s Breakfast Cafe and Mellow Mushroom Durbin Park. Wingstop should have no problems getting people in its doors, being the savory fast-casual chicken option, competing with its next-door neighbor and Island Wing Company.

When the new Wingstop opens, customers can expect made-to-crave wings and flavorful chicken sandwiches, hand-cut seasoned fries, and delicious sides. Some flavors the restaurant offers, which are available for either the sandwich or wings, include savory starters, such as lemon pepper and hickory smoked BBQ, as well as spicy options like atomic and cajun. Today, there are more than 2,000 restaurants open across the globe.
