Zaxby’s, the premium quick-service restaurant known for its chicken fingers, wings, and signature sauces, appears to be building a new location in Keystone Heights at 7455 Hill Rd.

The company recently submitted a plan review application to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation to open a new location on a vacant lot near Gas Line Road. While What Now Media Group has yet to confirm the proposed location, the application is still in process. There is no timeline for this location, but considering it will be a newly constructed standalone building, it’s likely this corporate-owned location will open at the end of this year or potentially next year.

Zaxby’s has been taking a liking in Northeast Florida lately, recently opening its newest location in Gainesville, Florida, at 7300 W. Newberry Road, previously reported by What Now Jacksonville. The new Zaxby’s, owned and operated by franchisees Shaun Morris, Boris Ochsenius, Blake Fletcher, and Cotton Fletcher of BSBC Go Gators, LLC., opened on Monday, May 13. The restaurant hosted a ribbon-cutting event at 10 a.m. to celebrate the grand opening, offering a four Chicken Finger Plate special for $8.99 during the opening week. Zaxby’s will likely host a similar event when the new Keystone Heights location opens.

“Having grown up here, Gainesville holds a special place in our hearts. Since we started franchising our own locations, our friends and family have asked us when we would bring Zaxby’s chicken to our own backyard,” Shaun Morris, owner and partner of BSBC GO Gators LLC, said in a press release earlier this month. “Boris and I started working at Zaxby’s as teenagers, eventually leading to a partnership with Blake and Cotton Fletcher. Together, we look forward to opening our 12th location and bringing our first location to our hometown.”
