For a long time, the pizza delivery game was dominated by only three titans of the industry—Papa John’s, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut. Now, there is finally another contender stepping up to challenge them. With 1,100 locations this year, Marco’s Pizza is giving them a run for their money.
And many locals are finding themselves investing. Franchise owner Clayton Kryvicky is looking forward to opening his first restaurant in early 2023. The new store will reside at 230 Plaza Blvd., Suite 6, in St. Augustine.
The fact that Marco’s Pizza is the fastest-growing pizza company in the U.S. isn’t lost on Kryvicky. He’s all aboard and already thinking of future locations in St. Augustine, where the city’s first location was built only last year.
“St. Augustine has experienced tremendous growth,” Kryvicky said in an interview with What Now Jacksonville. “Within just a few miles (of this location), there are new housing developments, apartment complexes, parks, schools, medical centers, and commercial businesses.”
And according to Nations Restaurant News, Marco’s Pizza has experienced tremendous growth in a short period of time. Record-breaking sales in 2021 and continued sales increases could have it slated to overstep Papa John’s as the fourth biggest in the nation if its growth trajectory remains consistent.
One big contribution to the number of units the franchise was able to grow has been the dedication of owners to keep investing. And to its credit, people like Kryvicky say they believe in the brand.
“I feel Marco’s was a good investment because of the incredible support of the corporate team…,” he said. “The pizza itself is my personal favorite. Marco’s doesn’t compromise on its ingredients, which goes back to the original founder’s standards of freshness, flavor, and quality.”
