After building hospitality experience at a high-end Las Vegas Italian restaurant, Giovanna Paolella and business partner Nina Neville decided to strike out on their own with a new venture: A Series of Fortunate Events. With executive chef Adam Carrison heading up the culinary side, the local business has been working to provide a wide variety of services.
“We’re an event-planning, party, and design company,” Paolella told What Now on Thursday. “We do catering, private chefs, décor, balloon installations. We’ve done a lot of work in private homes and at Anthem Country Club.”
And now for stage two of A Series of Fortunate Events’ growth process: the local restaurateurs and entrepreneurs are working to launch a food truck before the end of the year, offering an eclectic rotating menu with classics from Paolella’s native Philadelphia and highlights from the work of Chef Carrison.
“We’re going to have real cheesesteaks, plus my mother’s meatballs and her Sunday Gravy—her actual recipes. And [Chef Carrison] does a lot of great things. It’s going to be a rotating menu, so there’s an amazing shrimp cocktail with cocktail sauce with fresh horse radish. Or he also does chicken and waffle bites.”
And what’s in the future? Anything on the brick-and-mortar side? asked What Now.
In a word, Paolella said, yes. Expect to see the food truck all over Las Vegas for a while with the ultimate goal of finding a permanent brick-and-mortar home.
“The goal is to have our own space where we can have a restaurant and a beautiful event space as well,” said Paolella. “We opened back in April, and we’ve been very fortunate. We made a lot of long-lasting relationships with customers from our previous restaurant. What we’ve done in a very short time has been pretty remarkable, I think.”
