Another new concept from Corner Bar Management, the creators of imaginative Downtown destinations like Commonwealth, Lucky Day, and Cheapshot, is about to debut in Downtown Las Vegas.

Corner Bar has acquired Morton Restaurant Group’s La Comida, located at 100 South Sixth St. La Comida will rebrand as La Mona Rosa, keeping La Comida’s Mexico-City-inspired design.

Curated by executive chefs Daniel Arias and Isidro Marquez-Castillo, the culinary team behind Peyote, the menu will, as a recent press release puts it, “celebrate Mexico’s diverse regions, robust flavors and culinary techniques through traditional dishes that will be complemented by craft cocktails.”

The restaurant’s 3,500 square-foot space will feature a dining room with 80 seats, a 15-seat bar, and a 24-seat patio, with an open kitchen visible from the dining room. La Mona Rosa will add a stage to the space, allowing for the live entertainment and nightlife vibes that one expects from Corner Bar.

La Comida will remain open straight through until La Mona Rosa’s late-October debut, and the building’s 7-foot pink neon monkey will remain after the rebrand, “as an homage to Jenna and Michael” of Morton Restaurant Group.
