Launched earlier this year by local entrepreneur couple Jason and Marcia Rosenberg, Rooting For You offers a variety of “quality plants and ‘planty’ products not regularly found in your neighborhood nursery,” along with a beautiful atmosphere where people in the community can come to “relax, get inspired, and enrich their lives.”
“The plant community in Las Vegas is deeper and stronger than I ever imagined, and it’s great to see people’s reaction when they walk in and see all that lushness,” Jason Rosenberg told What Now on Friday. “Las Vegas—it’s a desert, and it’s beautiful. And we help bring that bit of green to it.”
And now Rooting for You is expanding to include a creative studio and special event space, making it a great spot for a wide variety of activities and gatherings, including plant workshops, chef-catered dinners, intimate acoustic sets, small weddings, and more. The retailer is working on licensing to serve beer and wine to accompany these events.
“Just for example,” said Rosenberg. “We have a lot of guys who come in who really like these carnivorous plants. So, you show people how to build a terrarium with carnivore plants. Or we show you how to root a plant, how to put it in the soil. It’s a great date night, you’re sipping on beer and wine, and you have something to take home.”
A sentence at the bottom of the Rooting For Your website’s Our Story page sums it all up nicely: “Plants are life…planty things are art…hummingbirds are cool, let’s drink a beer.”
