A long-planned restaurant project looks to be moving forward in Downtown Las Vegas. Paperwork was submitted to the Las Vegas Planning Commission for Downtown Sanchez Cantina and Comida, which would open at 623 Fourth St.

A special use permit had already been issued for the project, expiring in 2022, according to the documents.

As previously approved, the project would consist of a single-story tavern with 1,235 square feet of interior space and 3,080 square feet of outdoor patio seating. A new component of the project would be a food truck, located on 1,900 square feet of backyard space.

Behind Downtown Sanchez is Las Vegas businessman Darren Peterson of Visicon Properties LLC. What Now reached out to Peterson on Thursday to inquire about plans for Downtown Sanchez. Peterson was not immediately available for comment.

Opening in the South Fourth Street location, Downtown Sanchez would join restaurants like Sin City Seafood Kitchen + Lounge and Greens and Proteins, situated nearby on East Bonneville Avenue.

What Now is awaiting more information on Downtown Sanchez, so stay tuned for updates as more details become available.
