Freddy Hwang’s Sapporo Restaurant Group is embarking on a total culinary and architectural transformation of the property at 5599 Spring Mountain Rd. Having just closed escrow, the development is still taking its first steps toward a massive build-out.
Hwang confirmed these plans with What Now Las Vegas on Tuesday and projected that the restaurant complex will be ready to open by September. While some of the finer details are still up in the air, Hwang outlined the big picture:
Altogether, the shopping center is 13,000 square feet, and he plans to fill every square inch. Master Kim’s will occupy 4,000 square feet, and the retro Korean bistro/karaoke space will take up 5,000. They also plan to set up a 1,000 square feet Japanese crispy chicken franchise store, on which the details are still unclear. That leaves an empty space in the middle of the development, for which Hwang has yet to announce a brand.
Hwang made the news in 2017 when he opened Las Vegas’s first conveyor belt sushi restaurant. His other ventures include Sweet Poke, Ichi Ramen House, Samurai Japanese Steakhouse, Mr. Kim’s Korean Barbecue, and the former’s higher-tech installment called Master Kim’s Korean Barbecue, which will bring its automated delivery belts into the new development.
Another upcoming Sapporo Restaurant Group project in the works is Master Boba, which will open in Centennial this April.
