A new restaurant and live entertainment venue is preparing to open its doors on East Tropicana Avenue near the intersection with Spencer Street. The Casbah will open at 1955 E Tropicana Ave, offering live entertainment, Middle-Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, and a full bar.
“We’re going to cater to just about every culture there is,” Kathy, who owns the restaurant, told What Now on Wednesday, “Americans, people from Arab countries, Israeli people—we’re going to make sure everybody gets something from the menu and the entertainment.”
Occupying 4,500 square feet, The Casbah will seat about 150 guests, with a private VIP room for 60-80 people. It will be available for private events and will serve as a venue for a variety of live entertainment, including (we hope) performances by co-owner, singer-songwriter, and local legend Mustafa Kirk.
“We’re going to try to do some jazz too; we’re checking every possibility,” Kathy told What Now. “And the food will be amazing, with dishes from Turkey, Morocco, and the Middle East. For dessert, we specialize in Turkish Baklava.”
Opening on East Tropicana Avenue near Spencer Street, the Casbah will join a food and beverage community that includes Gorilla Sushi, Rum Runner Lounge, Cuba Café Restaurant, and Peru Chicken. It’s working toward an opening later this fall.
