Kris Morahan and Neil Radan are hoping to set a new standard for the tavern experience. Among their top priorities for The Standard Tavern are “excellent service, quality food, a clean environment and a place Centennial Hills can be proud of,” Morahan told What Now Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Morahan projects that The Standard Tavern will host a grand opening party on May 15, despite months of push-back and over a year’s worth of tireless preparation.
“Our goal is to appeal to all types of demographics,” Morahan said. “Whether you want to start your day with coffee and eggs, watch the game with a beer and a burger, or have a few glasses of wine for happy hour while playing blackjack, we will be the spot for you.”
In addition to the “standard” bar selection, so to speak, The Standard also has some house specials in store; nachos, wings, lobster and steak will all be on the menu this spring.
Though this will be The Standard’s first location, its owners have been in the restaurant and bar industry for years. Radan owns the McFaddens in Town Square, where Morahan was once a bartender. For several years, Morahan also served as Lead VIP Host for The Hakkasan Group.
The Standard Tavern will soon find its home among Durango Beltway Plaza’s other eateries, including Wingstop and Greens & Proteins. On Wednesday evening, The Standard was approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board for 15 slot/video poker machines. The restaurateurs are now free to complete their tavern’s bar and gaming buildout before its spring debut at 8635 W Rome Blvd.
