The company behind Secret Creamery will soon bring Tingle Labs Test Kitchen, an incubator kitchen for new restaurant concepts, to Sammy Davis Jr Drive, along with Berserker Burger, a restaurant project of its own that has been operating a food truck for some time already.

Owner Krit Sempolkrung confirmed the news in a Monday afternoon phone call with What Now Las Vegas.

“We’re trying to help farmer’s-market people,” Sempolkrung said. “There’s a gap in the knowledge market. So we bring you in as a popup, and then, if you sell, there’s data.”

In addition to Secret Creamery, an ice cream shop located in a shipping container outside the location and in which Tingle Labs Kitchen LLC holds a 50% stake, Tingle Labs Test Kitchen will also feature Berserker Burger, which Sempolkrung described as an upscale fast food burger joint without upscale prices.

“Fifty-five dollars should feed a family of eight,” he said.

Sempolkrung said Berserker Burger, which will sell its fare through a window at the location, would be an anchor point for the whole project—a venture he chararactized as a way of navigating the new conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re a fine dining catering company,” Sempolkrung said. “But we’re pivoting since COVID. We did large events before, but now there’s no such thing.”

It’s another example of the increasing relevance of commercial shared kitchens in the new food service era ushered in by the pandemic, one in which decreased dine-in traffic has caused many restaurants, struggling to keep overhead as low as possible, to forego dine-in options and focus exclusively on takeout and delivery orders.

Tingle Labs Test Kitchen is expected to open soon. At 3449 Sammy Davis Jr Dr, it can be found near the intersection with Mel Tormé Way, near Star Piano Cocktail Lounge.
