More ramen is headed to the area around UNLV. On Maryland Pkwy, just north of the intersection with Flamingo Rd, a project called Akuma Ramen is ready to start construction, according to a work permit issued by Clark County in July. Akuma Ramen & Sushi Bar is a brand offering ramen, sushi, and other Japanese cuisine in Los Angeles and Huntington Beach.
What Now Las Vegas reached out to Akuma owner Jongsuk Lee this week. Lee was unavailable for comment on the news that Akuma Ramen & Sushi Bar may be making its way to Las Vegas.
The West Hollywood Akuma menu opens with appetizers like Truffle Edamame, Parmesan Scallop, and Agedashi Tofu. Its ramen varieties include Truffle Ramen (Chashu [BBQ Pork], Garlic, Egg, Green Onion, Bean Sprout, Truffle, Black Pepper), Akuma Ramen (Chashu, Egg, Green Onion, Wanton, Nori, Mushroom, Corn, Scallop, Bean Sprout, Wood-Ear Mushroom, Wakame w/incredible Chef’s special sauce, Very Very Spicy!!!), and, for plant-based diners, Veggie Ramen with soy bean broth.
A wide variety of sushi, sashimi, and special rolls like the Hot Night Roll (IN: Shrimp Tempura, Crab Meat, Avocado, Cucumber / OUT: Sp Tuna, Crunchy Flakes, Eel Sauce) and the Oh My Salmon (IN: Crab meat, Cucumber, Avocado / OUT: Salmon, Sp Mayo, Mustard Sauce) complete the picture.
No word is out on when the Akuma Sushi headed to 4031 S Maryland Pkwy might open in the space formerly occupied by Cafe Cryptoria. The project’s connection to the California-based brand cannot currently be confirmed.
