In an Instagram post shared last Friday, LA’s premier French restaurant, Gigi’s, shared the shocking update of its shutdown. Based in the Sycamore Avenue corridor of Hollywood, the dining place will serve guests for one last time this weekend on May 10.

The French food establishment made its way to LA in November 2020. As its opening period happened during the pandemic, Gigi’s could present guests with outdoor dining only. However, after getting love from LA’s passionate foodies, it grew into a dining room for 60 guests.
Menu highlights at the French bistro included gnocchi, branzino, rotisserie chicken, escargot, steak tartare, and artichoke. Gigi’s also offers a wide selection of cocktails.
Not A Final Goodbye for the French Eatery
Gigi’s expressed its gratitude to loyal customers and staff in the post. But the most striking part of it was when the French bistro stated that May 10 will not mark its final goodbye to the LA crowd. Instead, it will be a farewell at its Sycamore Avenue location.
In the Instagram post, Gigi called on fans to join the French restaurant for a smashing farewell. The LA crowd can stop by the upscale Hollywood eatery for drinks and meals with their loved ones.
A String of French Restaurant Closures in LA
Gigi’s is not the only French restaurant that is shutting its doors in LA. Before it, Oriel Chinatown, a French wine bar, had closed at Alameda St. on April 25.
The closure of Gigi’s, with its message of ‘not’ a final goodbye, hints at a new chapter in LA’s culinary world. While the French bistro preps for its farewell party this weekend, LA residents can expect to relish classic food items and drinks.
