Located in Walnut, this restaurant has been satiating tastebuds with its food items filled with the flavors of China. The highlights of the menu at Xin Wang Food include Hainan chicken rice, potato noodles, stir-fried Shanghai choi, fried skewers, and edamame.
The Chinese restaurant was temporarily closed following its failure in a health inspection on Tuesday. This stringent test was one of the routine inspections of the County of Los Angeles Public Health.
Inspection Findings at Xin Wang Food
The report by the County of Los Angeles Public Health highlighted multiple health violations at the restaurant. But the one area that compelled inspectors to order Xin Wang Food’s shutdown was the issue of vermin infestation. This health violation fell under the organization’s ‘major’ violation category.
After this, inspectors found that the staff at Xin Wang Food did not clean their hands or maintain cleanliness within the food prep area. The food items were stored in unsafe conditions at the Walnut-based facility.
The inspection report stated that the floors, ceilings, and walls were not in decent condition at Xin Wang Food. Furthermore, the utensils and food equipment were also not properly maintained at the Chinese eatery.
In the report by the County of Los Angeles Public Health, the inspectors then noted that labeling was improper. Plus, the food items, including the raw and cooked ones, were kept together. The report also noted concerns regarding lighting and ventilation.
Until the County of Los Angeles Public Health returns for a reinspection, Xin Wang Food must take corrective actions.
