One of Los Angeles’ Tallest Residential Tower Skyscraper
The City Planning Commission approved the proposal for the 53-story tower on April 10. Designed by the Handel Architects, this building will be developed in Downtown Los Angeles. It will be a combination of The Bloc’s 12-story parking garage and the new 41-story tower.
Developed by the National Real Estate Advisors, this residential tower will create 466 studio apartments along with one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Parking will be provided within the existing building. The establishment is based at 700 S. Flower Street, 700 W. 7th Street, and 711 S. Hope Street.
Developers of the LA tower are planning to build a sculpted glass rooftop, which will have an open-air amenity deck. Whereas, the rooftop of The Bloc’s garage will be given the look of a landscaped amenity deck. It will include a swimming pool, a lawn for residents, and a fitness center.
The landscape architect of this LA-based residential tower project is Relm.
Timeline for the Los Angeles Project
A Planning Department study stated that starting in 2027, final work on the residential tower could take about 35 months. Additionally, the 7th Street located establishment would open its doors by 2030.
Approval for Makeover of the 7th Street
Other than project entitlements, the City Planning Commission gave thought to a proposed sign district for the project. This would allow for the installation of signage and advertisements on the exterior of the proposed tower building on 7th Street.
Additionally, to implement the sign district, a development agreement would be needed between the City of Los Angeles and the National Real Estate Advisors. Through it, a makeover of 7th Street would happen, which would require $1.6 million.
The approval of Los Angeles’ 7th Street-based 53-story residential tower is expected to reshape its skyline. Set to be built above the garage of The Bloc, the new structure would bring new housing units and add life to the urban real estate space of LA.
