The County of Los Angeles Public Health performed food safety tests across LA-based eateries on May 9. Due to multiple health violations, a Mexican restaurant and a chicken wings eatery were asked to halt their operations instantly.

Two LA Restaurants Failed Health Inspection
Barbosa Tacos and La Borracha Hamburgerseria came under fire by the County of Los Angeles Public Health on May 9. Both the food facilities failed their routine inspection due to issues like vermin infestation and dirty food contact surfaces, which violated outlined health regulations.

The people of Los Angeles make their way to this food establishment for a wide range of Mexican delights. Menu highlights at Barboas Tacos include chicken, asada, and al pastor meats. The LA crowd also loves its super fries de asada, tortas, burritos, sopes, and quesabirrias.
However, the Mexican food facility could not show satisfactory results during health inspections conducted by the County of Los Angeles Public Health. Based on the same, it was ordered to shut down food operations in LA.
The inspection revealed inadequately sanitized kitchen equipment and maintenance issues at Barbosa Tacos. Floors and walls also needed to be cleaned at the Mexican food facility. Food contact surfaces were also not sanitized properly.
The inspectors of the County of Los Angeles Public Health then highlighted the presence of rodents at the LA-based Mexican food restaurant. Additionally, they asked the representatives of Barbosa Tacos to store food and food containers appropriately.
The Mexican eatery was further noted to have toxic substances in the food prep area. Plumbing and warewashing facilities required maintenance as well. Further, food inspectors asked Barbosa Tacos representatives to maintain ideal cooking temperatures at the establishment.

La Borracha Hamburgerseria is a go-to place for LA residents and visitors who crave wings, fries, sliders, hot dogs, and burgers. The food establishment offers dishes like lemon pepper wings, Wagyu sliders, Korean-flavored wings, Wagyu bulgogi sliders, Nashville wings, and garlic Parmesan.
The County of Los Angeles Public Health asked La Borracha Hamburgerseria to close its doors after its many observed violations. The inspection was performed by the food inspectors last Friday.
Food inspectors first found that thermometers were not kept at La Borracha Hamburgerseria. They also noted sanitation issues, including no vermin-proofing facilities and toxic substances in the food prep area. Rodents were also observed at the LA-based chicken wings place.
Furthermore, inspectors found improper warewashing facilities and unsanitary conditions in food storage areas. Plumbing, floors, and ceilings also required repair.
Apart from this, there was a missing food safety certification. The establishment also executed certain construction plans without obtaining appropriate permits from the inspectors. Improving lighting was among the recommendations provided to La Borracha Hamburgerseria following the inspection.
While no dates have been announced, a follow-up inspection may be carried out by the County of Los Angeles Public Health in the coming months. Both LA eateries must take corrective actions as per violations noted by food inspectors.
