Health Inspectors Cite Violations at LA County Chinese Restaurant

The County of Los Angeles Public Health temporarily closed the Chinese food joint, the latest health inspection report shows.

The County of Los Angeles Public Health performed strict food safety inspections across eateries in L.A. and its county areas. Spicy Charm was cited for a range of health violations. Health inspectors prepared the report and ordered its closure following signs of vermin at the facility.

Spicy Charm’s latest report by the County of Los Angeles Public Health mentions the following violations:

  • The Chinese food facility lacked proper handwashing facilities during the inspection.
  • According to the report, proper hot and cold holding temperatures were not maintained.
  • The report cited food contact surfaces were not clean and sanitized at the Chinese food establishment.
  • Hot and cold water were not available at Spicy Charm, the report also noted.
  • The report highlighted that the Chinese food establishment was not following the required guidelines regarding eliminating insects/rodents/birds/animals at restaurants.
  • Non-food contact surfaces were dirty during the inspection on Tuesday.
  • The restaurant did not follow the requirements for approved equipment/utensils in the area.
  • Inadequate lighting and ventilation were noted in the report of the Chinese facility.
  • The report mentioned violations of plumbing requirements at the food establishment.
  • Garbage was not disposed properly.
  • The guidelines for proper construction/supply/cleaning of toilet facilities were not maintained.
