Jaru House serves Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Popular menu items at the Palmdale-based restaurant include baked salmon rolls, chicken chow mein, gyoza, and Mongolian beef.
During a routine inspection on July 15, Jaru House was cited for multiple food code violations. The on-site inspectors from the County of Los Angeles Public Health noted the poor state of floors, ceilings, and walls at the L.A. eatery.
Food inspectors reported sewage discharge issues due to broken backflow devices at Jaru House. Handwashing supplies were missing at the Japanese and Chinese cuisine restaurant as well.
The inspectors suggested that Jaru House must conduct vermin-proofing at the food facility. This was mainly due to the presence of rodents/insects at the L.A. restaurant. Additionally, the restaurant was cited for improper storage of kitchen equipment.
