The County of Los Angeles Public Health performed a health inspection at Wok Express on November 19. Based on their observations, health officials prepared the report for the Chinese facility. Among the highlighted issues, signs of vermin resulted in a temporary closure of Wok Express.

- According to the report, Wok Express violated the health department’s regulations regarding the presence of insects, birds, and animals at L.A. food facilities.
- The report also listed impoundment, voluntary disposal, and sampling of food items.
- Wok Express was cited for inadequate ventilation and lighting in designated areas.
- The report mentions food in good, safe, and unadulterated conditions was not followed.

- The report showed that the L.A.-based facility was not following the parameters of plumbing with respect to fixtures, drainage, and backflow devices.
- Food contact surfaces were not clean and sanitized.
- Adequate hand-washing facilities were missing at the Chinese facility.
- Wok Express was found to be violating the department’s requirements for equipment, linens, and utensils at L.A. food facilities, the report stated.
- Proper cleaning and washing of hands were not performed at the restaurant.
Based on the listed violations, the Chinese facility is expected to take corrective measures.
