Three LA Restaurants Failed Health Inspection

The County of Los Angeles Public Health is quite strict when it comes to taking action for food safety violations across LA-based eateries. A chicken place, a Chinese restaurant, and a coffee shop failed to make it through its inspection conducted on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles crowd makes its way to this Maywood restaurant for delectable chicken dishes. Menu highlights include the ENB Burrito, Nashville hot sandwich, and chicken and avocado bowl. Egg N Bird also serves Island Bowls, Vinegar Coleslaw, and Korean hot sandwiches.

However, the County of Los Angeles Public Health found many food safety violations at the chicken outlet. Health inspectors first found that the food safety certification was missing at Egg N Bird.

The inspectors then highlighted multiple cleanliness violations at the Los Angeles food facility. Garbage was not disposed of properly, food contact surfaces were dirty, and utensils were not cleaned thoroughly. But the most focused aspect was the presence of vermin at Egg N Bird.

The LA-based food facility did not have control signs for staff and customers. Plus, toxic substances were found in Egg N Bird’s food prep area.

Food inspectors then noted that physical facilities were not in good condition at the food facility. Broken floor tiles, improper backflow devices, inadequate ventilation, and poor toilet facilities were some of the observed violations at Egg N Bird.

This food establishment is a go-to place for LA residents looking for bites of Chinese delicacies. The casual dining place offers deep-fried sesame chicken, kung pao chicken, garlic shrimp, Mongolian beef, and chicken moo shu.

China Coast was cited for multiple food code violations by the County of Los Angeles Public Health on April 23. Food inspectors noted that the nonfood contact surfaces were not clean at the Chinese eatery. The storage containers were not properly labeled at the China Coast.

The inspectors pointed out the vermin infestation, which was a serious violation at the restaurant. Additionally, they emphasized that handwashing supplies were missing on the China Coast.

The plumbing was not in good condition, and utensils were rusted at the LA food establishment. There were issues with lighting as well. Food safety inspectors also noted that the floors and ceilings were not in good repair at China Coast.

This coffee shop is a preferred choice for LA residents looking to chill with their loved ones over breakfast or during snack time. Menu highlights at this LA-based food establishment include Portuguese egg tart-flavored egg waffles, spam musubi, Vietnamese coffee, and bubble waffles.

Food inspectors of the County of Los Angeles Public pointed out multiple health violations at Fresh Roast on April 23. Nonfood contact surfaces were not cleaned at the LA-based coffee shop. Sign warnings for customers and staff were missing at the food establishment.

The inspectors then highlighted that vermin infestation was found at Fresh Roast. Plus, they observed toxic items at the coffee place. Floors and ceilings were not built properly at the LA food facility.

Food safety temperatures were not maintained at Fresh Roast, as thermometers were not used by its staff.

While Egg N Bird, China Coast, and Fresh Roast have been asked to shut down, they might undergo reinspection by food inspectors. So, all three LA-based food facilities will have to take corrective action before the County of Los Angeles Public Health returns.
