Evermont Complete Affordable Housing Projects
Bridge Housing has completed two communities, Luminus and Vista at Evermont, offering 180 apartments for seniors, families, and individuals in need.
“Evermont is a symbol of what is possible when we come together and deliver on our promises,” said Bridge Housing President and CEO Ken Lombard.
“Bridge and our partners are committed to continuing to serve communities across South LA through innovative solutions that support residents and offer safe, affordable housing for generations to come,” said Lombard.
Based in South LA, Bridge Housing is a nonprofit that develops affordable homes for seniors and working families. The corporation was founded in 1983 and, since then, has participated in the development of over 16,000 homes serving more than 40,000 people.
Features of the New Housing Projects
Luminus is larger, offering 118 one- to three-bedroom apartments for families, while Vista provides 62 units for seniors. The new complexes also include a new transit plaza, parking structure, and more community amenities. The ground-floor retail space is under development, set to open later this year.
The complex also includes a Metro training facility, modeled after programs like SEED Public School in Los Angeles, to provide workforce opportunities for residents. Bridge Housing partnered with Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) and Primestor to redevelop the area.
By redeveloping a site vacant since the 1992 unrest, Bridge Housing brings new stability and opportunity to South Los Angeles. The opening of these two brand-new apartment complexes highlights an important step in addressing the pressing housing challenges in Los Angeles.
