Superfine Playa has announced that it will permanently close on New Year’s Eve. To mark its final weeks, the pizzeria is rolling out special celebratory offers from December 11 through December 31.
Superfine Plaza Is Closing Down Just After 2 Years in Playa Vista
Founded by Dina and Steve Samson, Superfine Pizza and Bar has been a local favorite spot with its traditional Italian flavors and Californian vibes. The restaurant is well known for its fresh and local produce. The innovative menu features signature 12” pizzas, delicious homemade pasta, tender wood-grilled meats and fish, and fresh seasonal produce.
The restaurant’s official page recently shared the closure announcement. “Our last day of service will be New Year’s Eve,” said Superfine Playa.
Superfine Playa confirmed its closure in an exclusive statement to WhatNow. The restaurant team shared, “After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to close Superfine Playa at the end of the year. Our final day of service will be December 31, and over the next few weeks, we hope to welcome you in for one last meal, spritz, or hug.”
The team extended a warm welcome to the community and appreciated them for their support: “We are deeply grateful for every guest who shared a meal with us, celebrated with us, and supported our team. Superfine Playa has been a special part of our lives—we’ve made so many new friends!”

Month-Long Farewell Celebration at the Plaza
The pizzeria is bidding farewell to the Playa Vista community on the last day of 2025, and to make the final month more memorable, the restaurant has organized an exciting lineup of events. The celebratory month at Superfine Pizza and Bar includes:
- From December 11 to December 18 – Sip & Paint with Tila
- From December 15 to December 22, the pizzeria is hosting Wine & Wrap: Open House
- On December 16, a Hanukkah celebration with Chef Akasha
- On December 17, enjoy Holiday Wine Time with Dina
- From December 20 to December 27, participate in cooking classes with Chef Steve
- On December 24, Christmas Eve Takeout Dinner
- For the last day of service, the pizzeria is offering a prime rib special.
Furthermore, Steve and Dina Samson will continue to own and operate Rossoblu in downtown Los Angeles. Superfine Playa’s loyal fans and customers can go to Rossoblu to enjoy the signature Superfine Pizzas on Sundays.
